Flagship Feature

Reverb Buffer Recorder

Capture the live reverb output, edit it in seconds, and use it as a sample, all without leaving the plugin.

  1. Arm the recordingClick the Arm button, or toggle Freeze. AmbiNOW starts capturing the wet reverb output into the record buffer in real time.
  2. RecordRecord as long as you like until you stop manually.
  3. Click record to stop and reviewRecording stops and the buffer instantly becomes available for loop playback within the plugin. A waveform preview shows the captured content.

Editing the frozen reverb

Trim / Crop
Drag the start and end handles on the waveform preview to select the region to keep. Confirm the crop to discard the rest.
Reverse
Flips the playback direction of the frozen buffer. Combine with Reverse flow mode for layered reverse effects.
Playback mode
Forward loops start to end. Reverse loops end to start. Both is a stereo ping pong between forward and reverse, adding width.
Loop crossfade
Automatic crossfade at loop boundaries prevents clicks when the loop wraps.
!

The buffer is cleared when a new recording starts. Export or drag the current reverb to your DAW before starting a new recording if you want to keep it.

Dragging the frozen AmbiNOW reverb buffer directly onto a DAW timeline
No Bounce Required

Drag it straight into your DAW

Once a reverb is frozen and trimmed, it is ready to use as audio. No bounce and import workflow, no dialog boxes, just drag.

Drag & drop
Drag from the waveform preview directly onto a DAW timeline, clip slot, or sampler. A temporary WAV is created automatically.
Save to file
Click Export or Download to open a save dialog. Written as 32 bit float stereo WAV at the current session sample rate.
DAW recall
AmbiNOW saves full state, all parameters and the wet freeze buffer, inside your DAW project. Reopening restores everything exactly as you left it.
Reverb Flow Direction

Read the reverb in any direction

Read the reverb buffer forwards, in reverse, ping pong, or in Drift mode, a phase modulated variant that creates subtle pitch movement and shimmer.

Forward

Natural reverb playback.

Reverse

Buffer read backwards for a reverse reverb swell.

Ping Pong

The head bounces between forward and reverse, adding rhythmic motion.

Drift

Phase modulated variation with subtle pitch wavering for an organic shimmer.

Motion seeding

Periodically jumps the read head to a new ring buffer position with a smooth crossfade.

Static

Position is predictable, reseeds on interval only.

Random

Continuous random reseeds for an evolving, unpredictable texture.

The five reverb Space Types in AmbiNOW: Hall, Plate, Chamber, Spring, and Shimmer
Space Types

Five reverb algorithms, one engine

From natural room acoustics to metallic shimmer and vintage spring character.

Hall

Natural large room reverb, smooth even decay. Works on almost anything.

Plate

Dense, bright metallic reverb inspired by vintage plate units. Excellent on vocals and snares.

Chamber

Medium sized room with balanced early reflections. Musical and transparent.

Spring

Coil spring character, wobbly and characterful, reminiscent of vintage guitar amp reverbs.

Shimmer

Pitch regenerating reverb with an ethereal choir like quality. Best on pads, keys, and sustained notes.

Time delay
Sets the ring buffer size in milliseconds. Longer values give a larger pool of recent audio for lusher, more complex tails.
Length
Decay rate. Low is tight and damped, high is long sustain, maximum is a near infinite ring, ideal for drones and ambient textures.
Beat Gate & Ducker

Sync the tail to the groove

Sync the wet signal to host tempo at one, two, or four beats. Ducker mode automatically dims the reverb whenever the dry signal hits, keeping the mix clean and punchy.

Off
Wet signal passes through continuously.
1 Beat
Gate synced to one beat of host BPM. Fades at beat boundaries.
2 Beats
Gate window of two beats. Useful for half time textures.
4 Beats
Gate window of four beats, one bar. Great for floating pad reverb.
Ducker
An envelope follower on the dry signal automatically reduces wet whenever audio is present. The reverb blooms in the gaps.
i

AmbiNOW falls back to 120 BPM if the host does not provide transport. Press play for a beat after session load to lock in gate timing.

AmbiNOW LFO panel with waveform, rate, phase, and depth controls
Modulation

A full LFO for animating your space

Four waveforms, free running in Hz or synced to host tempo with beat divisions, assignable to multiple destinations.

Wave
Sine, smooth. Triangle, linear. Saw, one directional. Square, stepped.
Rate
In Hz mode, cycles per second, free running. In Sync mode, locked to host tempo, 1/16 to 4/1 bar divisions.
Phase
LFO start phase offset from 0 to 360 degrees. Use to stagger multiple sources or align peaks to bar positions.
Depth
Amount of modulation applied, controls how wide the LFO swings the target parameter.
Destination
Parameter the LFO modulates, including Input Gain and reverb engine parameters.
Polarity
Bipolar swings above and below the base value. Unipolar modulates only upward from the base value.
Spectrum Analyzer

See the shape of your reverb

A real time spectrum analyzer embedded in the plugin UI. 1024 point FFT, Hann windowing, 96 log spaced bands, with four visualization modes.

Waveform
Real time oscilloscope of the reverb output, with automatic BPM sync.
FFT
Classic line spectrum from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, useful for reading the tonal character of a reverb type.
Bars
Bar graph spectrum using the same FFT data as vertical bars, easier to read at a glance.
Particles
Animated particle system reacting to spectral energy. High frequencies move fast, low frequencies drift slowly. Visual only, no audio effect.
Wet Tone Shaping & I/O

Shape the tail without touching the dry signal

Independent high pass and low pass filters on the wet path only. Switch each between a clean cut and a gentle shelf.

Low cut / shelf
High pass filter on the wet path only. Cut mode rolls off below the set frequency. Shelf mode gently reduces gain to tame low end buildup without harshness.
High cut / shelf
Low pass filter on the wet path only. Cut mode removes highs for a darker character. Shelf mode gently rolls off air.
Input gain
Signal level entering the reverb engine. Drive harder or softer without affecting the dry level in your mix.
Mix
Dry / wet balance. 0% is dry only, 100% is wet only. Most creative uses live between 15% and 60%.
Output gain
Master output level after all processing, to match the plugin output to your channel level.
Level meters
Real time peak metering for input and output, split per stereo channel.

Pro Tips

Get more out of AmbiNOW

Evolving pads

Set Flow to Drift and Space to Shimmer, then dial Length high for a constantly evolving harmonic cloud under slow synth chords.

Rhythmic tails

Enable the 1 Beat gate on a snare or pluck so the reverb blooms on beat and fades before the next hit.

Big lead reverb, clean mixdown

Use the 1, 2, or 4 Beats gate on leads to get a huge reverb without drowning the signal. Especially 1 Beat shines here: you keep the full spatial effect, while the gate cuts the tail before it stacks up and causes issues in the mixdown.

Mix clarity

Switch Beat Gate to Ducker on any dense source, so the reverb ducks under the dry signal and blooms in the gaps.

Instant reverse swells

Set Flow to Reverse, play a chord, arm the recorder, then trim the cleanest part and drag it straight onto a timeline.

Layer two instances

Run AmbiNOW on a send at 100% wet, then add a second instance on the master at low Mix for a richer, multi dimensional space.

Genre specific tails

Lo-fi and hip hop, try a High Cut shelf around 6 kHz. Electronic, try a hard Low Cut around 120 Hz to prevent muddiness.

Infinite reverb

At maximum Length the reverb sustains indefinitely. Use Mix or Beat Gate to control it, it will not fade on its own.
